RULES FOR ADMINISTERING CLUB TOURNAMENTS

Article One

GENERAL

SECTION 1. Dates and lake sites for tournaments will be set by the Board of Directors.
SECTION 2. Once a date, lake, weigh-in time, and site have been set, it may not be changed.  The only exceptions are hazardous conditions.  When deemed necessary by the Board of Directors an event may be changed 60 days prior to the event for any reason.  This will necessitate original lakes and dates are set no later than October 31st of the previous year.
SECTION 3. The October tournament shall be called the memorial tournament and held in honor of any deceased members.  It will be a regular pay tournament with poundage counting and regular pay back.  In addition to this there will also be $ 250.00 worth of prizes given away by drawing at the Sunday weigh-in to all members present.
SECTION 4. The club will have at least one draw tournament per year.
SECTION 5. Start times for all club tournaments will be 6:00 AM both days, with the weigh-in times 3:30 to 4:00 PM on Saturday and 2:30 to3:00 PM on Sunday.
SECTION 6. No alcoholic beverages may be bought from club funds for consumption of club members.  The only exception being beer bought for the S.I.T. if donated beer runs out.

 

Article Two

MONTHLY TOURNAMENTS

  1. All contestants must be members in good standing.  Any non-contestant occupying a contestant’s boat cannot weigh fish.

  2. The club will assume no responsibility incurred in any tournament.  You must fish at your own risk.

  3. All club tournaments are catch and release.

  4. Only Black, Spotted, or Smallmouth of at least 14 ¼ inches in length will be weighed in.  All live fish brought in less than 14 ¼ inches long will not be weighted and will be returned to the lake. Exceptions:  Lakes that do not have a minimum length limit.

  5. Any contestant attempting to weigh a fish under state and lake legal limits will be disqualified for that day’s competition.

  6. All bass will be measured on a Golden Rule measuring device with mouth closed and tail having to touch the legal length according to State and lake regulation.

  7. Fishing is not allowed one hour prior to the start of a tournament.

  8. No judge shall measure or weigh his own fish.

  9. A member may only weigh his own fish.

  10. The individual weight recorded for each member will be in one hundredth.  Top producers poundage will be tabulated each regular club tournament and totaled for the year.

  11. The tournament director will give a detailed report each meeting on lake conditions and other pertinent information for upcoming tournament.

  12. No tournament may be cancelled due to weather without a 100% approval vote of the registered contestants present.

  13. All fish must be caught on rod and reel, using artificial bait.  Trolling is not permitted.  Only two rods per contestant may be used.

  14. No fishing will be permitted within one hundred yards of launch areas or live release sites.

  15. Members must pay entry fee prior to the start of the tournament.

  16. All federal, state, county, city, lake, fish and game laws must be obeyed.

  17. Fishing will be done only at the designated tournament lake or lakes.  Any off limits water will be determined prior to the tournament.

  18. Contestants may fish from a boat, kayak, water wagon, tube, or by wading.

  19. Any contestant caught throwing litter will be disqualified without refund of entry fees.

  20. Any member engaging the services of a professional guide, or as a follow boat and tries to weigh in fish during that tournament will be disqualified without refund of entry fees.

  21. Contestants and fish or official weigh slip must be in the weigh-in line by final weigh-in time in order to weigh their fish.

  22. Fish must be in a bag of lake water or they will be disqualified from that days weigh in.

  23. No frozen or pale-gilled fish will be weighed unless otherwise specified by the tournament sponsor at registration.

  24. Any protest must be in writing and presented to the tournament sponsor at headquarters within fifteen minutes after final weigh in time.

  25. Any person who has guided commercially on the tournament lake during a six-month period immediately prior to the tournament shall be declared ineligible to fish.

  26. A junior member may not fish for any monies in our regular club tournaments.

  27. Any contestant that violates any rule contained herein will be disqualified.

  28. Tournament lakes of the PBC are off limits with a guide Friday prior to a club tournament.

  29. Contestants fishing another tournament in conjunction with a PBC tournament must notify the PBC sponsor. Weigh-ins will be at the tournament sponsor’s discretion.

  30. Sponsors will accept entries on Saturday and Sunday, PBC tournaments are daily.

  31. Penalty deductions of 4oz. (.25lbs) for each dead fish weighed at any club tournament.

  32. All fish caught at club-sponsored tournaments are the property of the PBC.
  33. Contestants must be at weigh-in to collect his or her winnings.

     

     

 

Article Three

BIG BASS OF THE MONTH

  1. At the end of each month a trophy will be given to the member catching the largest Bass during the month.  Duplicate trophies will be awarded in the event of ties.

  2. The fish must weigh at least five pounds.

  3. It must be caught on artificial bait

  4. Trolling is not permitted.

  5. It must be caught on a lake or river with public access in the State of Texas.

  6. It must be weighed on a registered scale.

  7. A “weigh slip” must contain the following information: date, lake, name of person who caught the fish as recorded on the registered scales, and the location of the registered scales.

 

Article Four

FISHING DIVISIONS AND THEIR TROPHIES AND PATCHES

  1. Women’s Division:  The top woman producer from each regular club tournament will receive a separate award from that tournament after competing in the adult division.  There is also a top woman producer of the year award.

  2. Top Producer Division:  They will receive an award for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place each day of the regular club tournament.  There is also a separate award for the top producer of the year.

  3. Two Day Total Division:  They will receive an award for the two-day total of a regular club tournament.

  4. Youth Division: (0-12) A separate trophy/plaque will be given to the top youth producer of each tournament and top youth producer of the year.

  5. Teen Division:  (13-16) A separate trophy/plaque will be given to the top teen producer of each tournament and top teen producer of the year.

  6. Monthly Trophies and Patches.
    1. First, second and third place each day.
    2. First place two day total.
    3. Big bass of the tournament.
    4. Top woman producer.
    5. Top youth producer.
    6. Top teen producer.
    7. Adult pound patches.
    8. Youth pound patches.
    9. Teen pound patches.

Monthly patches are blue and are given to any member who weighs in a fish 3 pounds or over in the adult division and for a youth it is 1 pound or over. One patch per fish.

  1. Yearly Trophies

    1. Top producer of the year.
    2. Top woman producer of the year.
    3. Top youth producer of the year.
    4. Top teen producer of the year.
    5. Big bass of the year.

 

Article Four

CLASSIC TOURNAMENT

  1. The top 25 fishermen  from the previous years weight totals will get to go to the classic. Each fisherman must commit by the February meeting.  All fishermen will be able to take a boat and fish alone or with an immediate family member.  If there are any non-boaters, they will be placed with one of the boaters by random drawing.

  2. In the case of a boater breakdown, the boater will fish  as a non-boater and will be drawn like any other non-boater.

  3. All regular club rules will apply.

  4. All fishermen will meet at the weigh-in site at a designated time (to be determined by the Classic tournament director and suggested to be 30 minutes before starting time) in order that it can be determined that all partners have paired up and for any last minute instructions from the tournament director.  Then everyone will be released to either trailer to another ramp or unload at the weigh-in site, whichever he or she may choose.  It will be on the honor system that no one will start fishing before the designated time.

  5. The draw for partners will be held at the February meeting and drawn partners will fish together all 3 days of the Classic.

  6. The Classic lake will be off limits to the contestants and sponsors 2 weeks before the Friday practice day before the tournament.

  7. All contestants must be at weigh-in both days to qualify for awards.

  8. The Classic monies and awards will be awarded at the following month’s general meeting of which: 90% go to the top 10, and 10% will go to the remaining fishermen. 1st. 20%, 2nd.16%, 3rd.11%, 4th.10%, 5th. 8%,    6th.7%, 7th.6%, 8th.5%, 9th.4%, 10th.3%.

  9. The Permian Bass Club “General Fund” will pay for trophies and patches for the top 25 and sponsors. (Trophies for the top 3 and Big Bass) The club will also pay for the Saturday night meal.

  10. The 2nd. Vice will be in charge of all arrangements for the Classic.  Volunteer sponsors may actually conduct the Classic tournament and arrangements.

  11. The Classic lake will be chosen by vote at the January meeting.

    1. Only the top 25 qualifying fishermen may vote.
    2. Contestants Must Be present to vote.
    3. Voting will be done by written and signed ballot.
    4. The lake with the greatest number of votes will be chosen as the Classic lake.
    5. If for any reason the Classic Tournament cannot be held on the lake chosen, the second lake with the most votes will be the lake fished.
  12. The Board of Directors will set the Classic date at the time the Classic lake is chosen.

  13. The Permian Bass Club will pay $3500.00 to the Classic tournament to be used for prize money.  No other money will be taken from the general fund except that allowed by rule no. 9.
